Guidepoint Agency, Inc., doing business as Guidepoint Insurance ("Guidepoint," "we," "us"), is a licensed independent insurance agency based in Dallas, Texas. This policy explains what information we collect through our website www.gpagents.com, our online quote forms, our ads, and our phone, text and email communications, and how we use and protect it.
If you buy a policy through us, you will also receive a separate privacy notice that explains how your nonpublic personal information is handled under federal and Texas insurance privacy law. If that notice and this policy differ, that notice controls for your insurance records.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote, call, text, email or message us, you may give us:
Name, phone number, email address and ZIP code or address
The type of coverage you want (for example home, auto or both)
Details needed to quote, such as vehicles, drivers, home and roof age, current policy and renewal date
Anything else you choose to include in a message or form
When you apply for coverage, we may also ask for information such as dates of birth, driver's license numbers, and prior insurance and claims history. We collect that only as needed to quote and place coverage.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website or interact with our ads, we and our service providers may collect device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, the ad or search that brought you to us, and form-submission events. See section 5.
Information from others. To quote and service policies we may receive information from insurance companies, consumer reporting agencies (for example motor vehicle and claims history reports, where permitted by law), and people who refer you to us.
3. How we use and share information
We use your information to:
Prepare quotes, compare options and place and service coverage
Contact you about your request by phone, text or email
Send renewal reminders and occasional updates you agreed to receive
Measure and improve our website and advertising
Meet legal, licensing and regulatory obligations
We share information only as needed to serve you:
Insurance companies we quote with or place your coverage with
Service providers that work for us under confidentiality obligations, such as our agency management, customer-relationship, phone and texting, email and website-hosting providers
Legal and regulatory recipients when required by law, subpoena or a regulator, or to protect our rights or prevent fraud
A successor business if our agency is merged, sold or transferred
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver our text messages.
4. Texts, calls and opting out
If you check the consent box on our quote form or otherwise agree, Guidepoint Insurance may call and text you, including with automated technology, about your quote and insurance. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop at any time:
Texts: reply STOP. Reply HELP for help.
Calls and email: tell us on a call, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us using section 6.
You may ask us to stop all marketing contact through any reasonable means, and we will honor it across phone, text and email. We may still contact you about an active policy or claim where the law allows.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar tools, including Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag and Google Tag Manager, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure which ads lead to quote requests. These providers may collect information about your visit and use it under their own privacy policies.
You can limit this by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, adjusting your ad settings at adssettings.google.com and in your Facebook account, or using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
6. Security, retention, your choices and contact
Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Retention. We keep information as long as needed for the purposes above and as required by insurance record-keeping laws.
Children. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online.
Your choices. You may ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop marketing to you. Some records must be kept to meet legal requirements.
Changes. We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version.
